It can be said that the challenges were not within the scope of the gift of deed....

I personally believe that they are, and all challenges to day have been....

Going back to the BIG BOAT in '87, and Conners first Multi hull they were all well within the scope of the gift....

The purpose is to get on the water and go as fast as possible up and down the course....It has been done many times off of NewPort, San Diego, Perth, Auckland, and Valencia....

I hope the Spirit of competition continues....However, I hope that they find a way of leveling the field so that the costs were not so prohibitive....That would allow for more challengers and more competition from around the world....

If the ballast water is marked with a standard dye, then discharge of water will be noticed. One could probably also require valves between aft and forward tanks be sealed to ensure no non-lateral transfer occurs.

America's Cup 2010

The original contestants in the first America's Cup must be turning in their graves. The thought that for the first time in the 159 year history of the event, the winner on the water of the next contest, which starts on February 8th in Valencia, may end up being declared the losers in a Court of Law, really demeans the whole sporting ethos that the Americas Cup is supposed to represent.

The 'Cup' is the oldest active trophy in international sport and it should be treated with the respect that position accords it. To enable some time for thinking here is a suggestion! In order to avoid the embarrassment which would undoubtedly be caused by the 'wrong' side taking the cup home after the 'best of three' races in Valencia, it should be placed in 'neutral territory' until the victor is finally decided in court. Where better than the acknowledged home of international yacht racing but Cowes; after all the Cup originated from the Royal Yacht Squadron.

Am wondering if there is a schedule yet, and if there'll be any TV or online video from the races, either live or delayed. If delayed when would they be aired?

Did I read what I think I read? Are there only 2 competitors for the 2010 America's Cup Challenge. This is not right. Try harder next time

Is this article posted somewhere on the site in English?? I thought I was having a stroke. I asked some one else to read it, she had just completed the New York Times crossword with ease and could make no sense of this article. We checked the date, it's not April 1st so what is going on guys? To Alinghi in Valencia could be a dance that I,m not cool enough to know about. Please clarify. thx
