The heads of the Geneva Nautical Society (SNG), as a club representing Alinghi in the America’s Cup, has sent a letter of invitation to the principals of Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC) of San Francisco, which represents Oracle in which invite you to a reunion next week in Geneva, according to sources of Alinghi.
The purpose of this meeting in principle between yacht clubs, is to iron out differences after the litigation in the courts and to reach an agreement to organize the 33rd America’s Cup, as they asked the Court of Appeals in New York Case last April 2.
Beyond reaching agreement for the hypothetical duel that both teams have to compete to the best of three races, it is possible to engage in a dialogue that could be a conventional America’s Cup with all the teams.
To do this, since Alinghi claims that its president, Ernesto Bertarelli, is open at any time to meet with the head of Oracle, Larry Ellison. This meeting could occur next week in connection with the invitation of the Geneva Nautical Society has returned GGYC of San Francisco.
The American team is not close to a possible America’s Cup with all the teams, but acknowledged last April 8 that prefers not aireen meetings that may arise between the top leaders of both teams.

A total of nineteen teams have registered for disputing 33rd edition of the America’s Cup to be held in Valencia, eight more than in the previous one, according Today communicated AC Management, organizer of the competition.
All the teams that participated in the 32nd America’s Cup, also disputed waters in Valencia, have re-enrolled for the next edition, except the U.S. BMW Oracle, which maintains a legal conflict with the organization.
In addition to the Ombudsman, and Alinghi, and the Challenger of Record, Desafio Espanol, a total of 21 teams submitted an application for registration and 17 have been accepted, although three of them are outstanding teams registered some minor details in its registration process Officer and were granted an extension until Jan. 15.
A three other teams have not been allowed to register because it has not received any further documentation that the application for registration beyond December 15, the registration deadline, while the Carbon Challenge has been withdrawn.
The teams have worked together in recent months in frequent meetings of competitors to amend the Protocol for the 33rd America’s Cup and design a new class of ship, a process that will continue in 2009 with more meetings planned and the publication of the new class of Boat scheduled for late January.
The schedule for the 33rd America’s Cup includes two pre-regattas in Valencia in 2009, pending final agreement with the city: the first in July and the second in October, in addition to the annual regatta of the Spanish Sailing Club Nautico in November, followed by the America’s Cup in 2010.
Clubs agree to realize three events in 2009 in Valencia and studying to pospone the America’s Cup to 2011.
Saturday, March 28th, 200916 clubs are already formally registered for the 33 America’s Cup. The defender and the twelve challengers who already had done so before and three new ones. Officially, only one can say that a Russian team (Russia) has been registered, but there are two others who already have the blessing of the organization (one is the Luna Rossa) to be full members of the competition. Well, yesterday joined the 16 teams to return to claim the BMW Oracle to stop the appeal and a 33 Copa America to a conventional all branded as just emerged after leaving the protocol that should govern. The most graphic was the owner of Team Origin, Keith Mills. English, which does not have the slightest semblance of being a puppet of Alinghi and now argues the American union, said yesterday: “I do not think any team can have a gun on top of each other and that is what is happening in the past 18 months. I have spoken several times with Ellison and Coutts to say that great progress has been made in the protocol. ” Next week is going to make an official rule for the Copa America conventional. Earlier, on Monday is the deadline for registration and from Geneva Barruntar that can be between 18 and 20 unions that the deadline had been attached to the theoretical event: “Never before has the Copa America had this number of entrants. This is a sign that the draft multichallengers is on track. As a sportsman I can not understand that a team wants to reach the finals through the courthouse, “said the Frenchman Marc Pajot, leader of French Spirit. Yesterday’s meeting in Geneva was virtually closed the protocol with the approval of all those registered. But it also spoke of the sporting future of the competition, and he is unfailingly by Valencia. Not only will compete in two events in July and October that will be organized by ACM, the company that governs the competition, but has been given official status of the race of the CNEVA of November. All registered pledged to compete in all three races to be held in the waters of Valencia. In addition, Valencia is at the base since January of unions that are coming to work at the dock. For the month is expected that in the waters of La Malvarrosa held a series of training sessions between teams that arrived after traveling to New Zealand to participate in the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series. Taking advantage of that series of trainings on 14 and Jan. 15 will be held in Valencia next meeting of the challengers, which will continue to make progress in terms that should govern the Copa America. One of the main aspect that the unions should discuss is the date on which you can make the 33 Copa America conventional. There are two options: 2010 and 2011. Alinghi defends the first and part of the unions but there is another group that prefers that the competition could be delayed until 2011 to give more time to escampe the crisis as it faithfully know what happens with the trial in New York. Of course, if BMW Oracle wins the appeal in the United States will be very complicated to be able to have certainty for 2010, since the race in multihulls no one could ever do before the month of February 2010. Therefore there is very little room for equipment. 2011 is a date that advocates, for example, Desafio Espanol who understands that it is much more feasible to work on such later date as it offers more certainty and it is also beneficial for Valencia and Spain as there is more time to amortize the cost of the Cup . The upcoming dates of the competition to mark next week you can and publicize the protocol, while the January 31 2009 will be made public regulation of the design of the sailboat (lighter and cheaper than the V5 or AC90). Finally, on February 28 is to be present format of the race.
